PROPOSED ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2027-2028

In accordance with the requirements of the School Admission Code St Albans Girls' School is consulting on its proposed Admission Arrangements for the Academic Year 2027/28.

The consultation will run for six weeks, commencing on Monday 27 October 2025 and closing on Sunday 7 December 2025

The proposed admission arrangements can be viewed by clicking the link here

We propose to change:

Rule 6 and Rule 7:  Girls who live in the priority area for whom STAGS is their nearest (Rule 6)/not their nearest (Rule 7) Hertfordshire maintained non-faith, non partially selective school or academy that makes provision for girls.  If more girls qualify under Rule 6 and Rule 7 than there are places available places will be allocated to those who live closest to the school using the average percentage of allocated places table documented on page 2 and not on a random basis as per previous admission arrangements.

Surplus Places – If a named parish does not use its full allocation, any surplus places will first be allocated to those who live closest to the school from any parish.

For In Year Admissions, the same revised Rule 7 will apply.

Responses to this consultation should be submitted either:

·         By email to admin@stags.aetrust.uk or

·         By post to St Albans Girls’ School, Sandridgebury Lane, St Albans, Herts   AL3 6DB

The deadline for responses is Sunday 7 December 2025.

We welcome feedback and all responses will be considered by our Governing Body before determining our final Admission Arrangements for September 2027 to August 2028 by 28 February 2026.   We will not be able to acknowledge or respond individually to your comments, but they will be taken into account.
