Working at STAGS
Working at STAGS is exceptionally rewarding. Our students make outstanding progress and leave school with excellent qualifications and the self-belief to help them to build a successful future. Our expectations are high for both students and staff, and we all strive to continually improve and develop our practice. We have a fantastic Senior Leadership team who are highly thought of, and who endeavour to understand where we can improve and do better.
We are consistently in the Top 100 Secondary Schools in the country and as a member of Ambition Education Trust, we offer excellent professional development opportunities for all. As a result, colleagues have a wealth of opportunities to develop their careers, with many promoted internally.
We are genuinely committed to the wellbeing of all of our staff. We have positive workload measures and calendar of staff wellbeing events in operation as a commitment to all of our staff and understanding their job roles. Staff views are important and we offer a range of wellbeing support which includes free health checks, flu jabs, access to mental health first aiders as well as financial support and guidance. Visitors to the school often comment on the positive atmosphere throughout and how exceptionally friendly and supportive our staff are, with staff social gatherings very well attended and include getting together seasonally including at BBQs in the summer term.
At STAGS, we are committed to achieving a diverse workforce, fully representative of our pluralistic society and the ethnic make-up of the student population in the UK. People of colour are currently under-represented on our staff team and governing board. We are, therefore, actively keen to attract applications from a diverse pool of candidates and are determined to be a fully inclusive employer and an exceptional workplace, for people of Black, Asian and racially minoritised, as well as White, heritage.
Our goal is that everyone - incorporating heritage, identity, or lived experience - feels seen and heard as well as valued, supported and able to thrive. We strongly promote equity of opportunity and minimise unconscious bias by presenting blind view applications.
A comprehensive list of our benefits and why STAGS makes such an excellent place to work can be found here.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Vacancies are subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
